Trip to the Mountains

Here are some pictures of our visit to the Vail and Glenwood Springs area. We spent a week up there. It was very nice to finally spend some time together and regroup. We had a chance to catch up and even talk about baby names.

Some of the neat things that we did were taking a tour in the Glenwood Springs caverns, visit the Palasade wine country where Adam did some tasting and I did some smelling of the wine. I would ask how the wine aged...."Would it age for a year or two well?", we had some great dinners, and rested quite a bit. We both came down with colds though. We finally exhaled, so that's what we get.

Moving and Baby Updates

Here's an update on moving and baby Fisher. I wish we could show you ultra sound pictures, but that will have to wait. We are in the middle of moving currently, so for now it's only text. We have been preparing for the movers to come all weekend, and now they are here. Adam is going to head down to New Mexico tomorrow to find us a place to rent. We are looking for a house- preferably with enough bedrooms for us, a baby and a guest. ;) So, plan your trips to beautiful New Mexico.

We met up with some great friends last night in downtown Denver to have dinner and a sort of farewell. Dan and Beth Dolton along with other friends in the area will be our reason to visit the area in the future. We'll also have to show off the baby. That's what is really neat about life. You just keep building friends where you go, and you have the oportunity to hold onto the friends you have already made. ;)

It's going to be a beautiful 70 degrees here in the Denver area today. We have been up, had our coffee and are ready to go.

On the other hand, the baby is good and and growing. ;) Since the last picture which was 2.5 weeks ago, I think the belly area is quite a bit bigger. I've felt movements from "her" a lot more lately. It seems to be when I'm sitting and leaning back slightly when I feel the gabs most. It's all low too- below my belly button and around it. Yesterday I did have this pulling or stretching feeling in my upper abs. It was as if you were arching your back so far that muscles would pull. Then it moved down to a feeling of being across my mid section in a horizontal line if you will. It lasted through the night, but it's gone today....thanks goodness. I thought, "where will I lie down if it's still irritating me...on the floor of the room where there isn't work being done?". :) If any previously pregnant friends or family would like to lend some insite as to if they have felt this or if it's "normal", I would love to hear from you.

I'm not sure if we have shared this with everyone, but we are 80-90% sure we will be having a baby girl. I am bumbed, because we aren't certain. We will just have a little anticipation building until the day of the birth. Adam is fine with this, because he would rather not know the gender until delivery.

The ultra sound technician was a bit difficult to work with. She had the screen that we could view the baby on turned so that I wasn't able to see it. Imagine watching TV from the side angle. Because of this, I had my hands under my head for support. She immediately told me quite strictly to keep my head down. So, I explained that I couldn't see the screen. She didn't seem to make that much of a priority, so I was getting really frustrated. Adam had a good view, so he could relate things to me after the appointment and he really enjoyed the experience.

The next doctor appointment will be in New Mexico. I haven't found a doctor yet. Right now a lot is going on, so in due time I'll figure that one out. :) One step at a time. Maybe the next blog entry will have some pictures of New Mexico!

Week 19...Practically Half Way

This week's appointment had healthy and good news. We had an ultra sound out of the doctor's kindness (and our insurance... of course.) The 45 minute ultra sound we thought we were having today is going to be next Friday due to a misunderstanding with scheduling. The doctor searched for the sex, and the little baby was keeping "it's" legs together. In the mean time, we saw the four chambers of the heart and the blood colored blue and red for the oxigenized and used blood. That was neat. We also looked around at the tiny bladder, spine, face, behind, fingers and toes. The doctor was trying to move the baby around, and we thought my laughing would get it to move around too. Eventually, he stated, "I'm 90% sure it's a girl." We are not going to say it's for sure until our appointment next week. Soon we will be able to refer to the baby as she or her. That will be a nice change from it. ;)

Adam and I were both fine with whichever gender it is, we are so excited for this little bundle of joy... who is pulling all the energy out of Kim... (she has enlisted my help in finishing this as she is now laying on the floor.) According to the ultrasound, the baby is moving quite a bit, but except for the occasional "gas pains" Kim hasn't felt... her. But, the baby's heartrate remains 140 bpm... right where we want it...

Kim's weight has gone up 5-6 lbs from the last appointment 4 weeks ago. She was thinking this was a bit much, but it's been 13 lbs total so far and that seemed fine to the doc. The measurement of her uterus has also grown 6cm, so that explains a bit. More to follow next week... Here's a photo of Kim today.
