Week 19...Practically Half Way

This week's appointment had healthy and good news. We had an ultra sound out of the doctor's kindness (and our insurance... of course.) The 45 minute ultra sound we thought we were having today is going to be next Friday due to a misunderstanding with scheduling. The doctor searched for the sex, and the little baby was keeping "it's" legs together. In the mean time, we saw the four chambers of the heart and the blood colored blue and red for the oxigenized and used blood. That was neat. We also looked around at the tiny bladder, spine, face, behind, fingers and toes. The doctor was trying to move the baby around, and we thought my laughing would get it to move around too. Eventually, he stated, "I'm 90% sure it's a girl." We are not going to say it's for sure until our appointment next week. Soon we will be able to refer to the baby as she or her. That will be a nice change from it. ;)

Adam and I were both fine with whichever gender it is, we are so excited for this little bundle of joy... who is pulling all the energy out of Kim... (she has enlisted my help in finishing this as she is now laying on the floor.) According to the ultrasound, the baby is moving quite a bit, but except for the occasional "gas pains" Kim hasn't felt... her. But, the baby's heartrate remains 140 bpm... right where we want it...

Kim's weight has gone up 5-6 lbs from the last appointment 4 weeks ago. She was thinking this was a bit much, but it's been 13 lbs total so far and that seemed fine to the doc. The measurement of her uterus has also grown 6cm, so that explains a bit. More to follow next week... Here's a photo of Kim today.

Cute photo! Jason, Merrick and I are so happy for you. Gaining 6 lbs in one month isn't bad. I gained 55 lbs total and lost most of it right away, although I still have a bit to go.

When are we going to see a photo of Adam from the side, so we can gage how much "baby" he's growing in support of Kim? =)
