Trip to Colorado

Adam had a TDY in Colorado Springs, so we made it a family trip. Originally Gwen and I were going to just be along for the ride, but it turned out that Ricca Newmark Design needed some assistance from me. They were gracious enough to allow Gwen to be in the office while I was working. It was fun to see all of the RND crew. It had been since October that I had seen them.

Gwen and I stayed at our friends' Andy and Lora's house in Denver. We met up with our friend Jill for lunch one day and also with our friends Christene, Derek and Lauren Woodward another day for lunch. We ate at an Irish pub one night and the Cheesecake Factory in downtown Denver another night. It was great to hear the radio stations and believe it or not I liked driving in the traffic again. ;)

Gwen traveled well. We would just stop 3 times for the 8 hr car ride to feed, change and play with her. Otherwise, she slept and played around with the teething beads that hang from her car seat while we were in the car. She was passed around from co-worker to co-worker who simply love babies and loved giving Gwen attention. It was very nice to see her happy while "strangers" held her.

She was sleeping near me on the floor at RND here.

The office space was open, so if Gwen cried I had to make sure she was soothed quickly not to disturb someone in thought or on the phone.

Michelle Unitas, holding Gwen here, has soon to be 3 yr old twins and loved spending time with Gwen. Michelle Maestas, with her back to us brought in a play gym pictured below. She has a baby 1-1/2 months older than Gwen. She and I actually worked at Designworks together designing model homes.

This is the desk where I worked. The designer whose desk I was sitting at was on vacation. She is a neat and tidy person, so my former manager took this picture to show her how "messy" I had it with all of Gwen's things around.

Andy has grand children and said that he would go as far as saying that Gwen was as cute as them.

Kate was very good with Gwen and showed me how much Gwen loved us rubbing on her gums with our fingers.

Pom I had never met. She is new to RND. She's from Thailand and told me that the anklets signified wealth in Thailand. People dress their babies up with them and jewelry.

Friday we went to a change of command for Adam's former Director of Operations while he was working in Colorado. She and her husband invited us over for a BBQ that night, so we stayed an extra night. We traveled back to NM Saturday.

Today, we dressed Gwen in this cute blue dress that is from Grandma and Grandpa Fisher (JoAnn and Chris). She looks like such a little lady to me in these pictures.

Hi Kim, Adam & Gwen,
It is so much fun catching up with all of you through this blog! I can tell Gwen is very well loved by all! What a cutie! I liked seeing Andy B from RND. Didn't recognize many of the other people. How great that you helped them out and Gwen got to go too!

Sorry I haven't been in touch lately. Lots going on with Grant's high school graduation then a 2 week trip to Italy the first of June!

Take care and give darling little Gwen a hug for me!
